This 2006 Sea Ray 340 Sportsman represents the ultimate blend of luxury express cruising and versatile open-water functionality. Built on one of Sea Ray’s most successful express hulls, the Sportsman package enhances the legendary 340 platform with an open, multipurpose cockpit layout featuring dual transom walk-throughs and a fold-away aft bench. Whether you are coastal cruising, entertaining a crowd at the anchor, or heading out for a casual day on the water, this vessel delivers an exceptionally smooth ride and premium amenities throughout.
Vessel Overview
Stepping aboard, the 340 Sportsman immediately impresses with its generous 12-foot beam and sleek profile. The wide beam translates to incredible stability offshore and unmatched interior volume for a vessel in the 34-foot class. Powered by reliable twin MerCruiser V-drive inboards, she offers effortless planing, comfortable mid-20-knot cruising speeds, and responsive close-quarters handling around the dock.
Cockpit & Deck Architecture
The cockpit is purposefully designed to maximize usable deck space while retaining all the upscale comfort Sea Ray is known for. The helm area features companion bucket seating with flip-up thigh-rise bolsters, elevating visibility while under way. A starboard wet bar with solid-surface countertops, built-in ice chest, and dedicated storage keeps refreshments easily accessible. Aft, the open cockpit layout provides ample room for social gatherings or gear setup, complete with snap-in marine carpet, indirect courtesy lighting, a hot and cold transom shower, and an integrated swim platform with a hidden stainless steel boarding ladder.
Cabin & Accommodations
Below deck, the cabin showcases Sea Ray’s classic craftsmanship, highlighted by high-gloss cherry cabinetry, rich upholstery, and solid Corian countertops. Seven opening portlights and overhead deck hatches flood the interior with natural light. The forward stateroom features an island double berth with a memory foam mattress, fitted privacy curtains, and dual hanging lockers.
The main salon includes a plush sofa that easily converts to an additional sleeping area alongside a dining table. Opposite the salon, the full-service galley comes well-equipped with a dual-voltage refrigerator/freezer, a recessed two-burner electric stove, a microwave/coffeemaker combo, and generous drawer and overhead storage. Aft of the main salon, the mid-cabin conversation pit serves as a cozy lounge by day and converts to a private double berth for overnight guests. A fully enclosed head with a VacuFlush toilet, molded vanity, and integrated shower completes the interior accommodations.
Mechanical & Electrical Systems
Engineered for reliable performance and effortless weekending, the engine compartment is accessible via an electric hatch lifter for easy maintenance. Onboard systems are powered by a marine generator and a multi-bank battery charging system, ensuring seamless power whether underway or anchored off the grid. Climate control is provided by a reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating system, keeping the cabin comfortable in any season.

Dyson did his first overnight on an Alberg 23 sailboat when he was just two-weeks old, and has been hooked ever since. Raised on Kent Island he has spent his entire life surrounded by water. He got his boating license at the age of 10, allowing him to start enjoying a wide range of power and sailboats at an early age. Racing on his high school varsity sailing team was a four-year passion for Dyson. He then went on to become a first mate on an off-shore, charter fishing boat out of Ocean City, Maryland as well as gaining sport fishing experience in the Caribbean and Pacific. After graduating college, he started his own Yacht Management Company which afforded him an excellent knowledge-base and professional network in the marine industry. Now as a broker, “A fluid experience for my clients is always my goal”!
