Description
There are many reasons why the J/45 was recognized in 2023 for ‘Best Crossover’ by Sailing World, ‘Best Performance Cruiser’ by Cruising World, and ‘Top 10 Best Boats’ by SAIL Magazine.
I’m confident the judges pointed out the elegant Isabelle Racoupeau interior, where natural light accentuates a resolutely modern design, offering both comfort and functionality. Another judge revelled in the performance; sailing in the lightest of conditions the J/45 is capable of matching the speed of the wind using a code sail. Lastly, they focused on the build quality, where J-Composites has spent the last 30+ years perfecting the process, and is the most experienced yard in the world when it comes to sandwich and infusion construction.
However, it’s my humble opinion that anyone who steps on the J/45 and takes the helm, will be able to immediately perceive decades worth of knowledge and experience put into her design, and appreciate the comfort, safety and performance on offer. Afterall, it’s a seriously vast collection of small details, when carefully orchestrated and arranged, that work together to create the feeling of excellence.
ACCEPTANCE is a 2024 J/45 offered for sale, and the first and only shoal draft J/45 in existence. With an all-lead shoal draft keel, and a slightly shorter carbon mast, she is capable of cruising the ICW, but equally capable venturing offshore. In fact, she holds the J/45 speed record while heading south off Cape Hatteras.
ACCEPTANCE is also equipped with a carbon furlerboom, retractable bow thruster, B&G H5000 electronics package, North 3di Sail inventory, 4 electrified winches, and honestly too many special features to include in this short description. I encourage you to review the listing carefully, and schedule a visit. She will be on display at the 2026 Annapolis Sailboat Show, and/or available for a private showing in Annapolis leading up to the show.

Moving forward, the U-shaped galley to port offers generous counter space, a deep sink, ample storage, a large freezer, and drawer fridge. Across to starboard, the forward-facing navigation station provides comfortable seating and easy access to instruments, chartwork, and vessel controls.
The saloon makes excellent use of the beam, with a folding oak table and U-shaped dinette to port and a long starboard settee suitable as a sea berth.
