Description
This 1998 Sea Ray 400 Sundancer combines the timeless styling and exceptional layout Sea Ray is known for with the optional twin Caterpillar 3116 TA 350 HP diesels. With only 1,200 original hours, these engines have been well maintained, fully serviced, and recently had their overhead valve adjustment completed approximately 100 hours ago.
The Caterpillar diesels give the 400 Sundancer an impressive combination of performance, efficiency, and range. At a comfortable cruising speed in the mid-20 MPH range, she can burn less than 20 gallons per hour, making this a particularly capable platform for extended cruising and long days on the water.
The 400 Sundancer's deep-V hull features a 19-degree transom deadrise, providing a confident, comfortable ride when conditions deteriorate. Her substantial size and hull design make her equally at home cruising the Great Lakes, heading to the islands, or spending a weekend at the sandbar.
The cockpit is designed for entertaining and extended time on the water, with ample seating, a custom camper enclosure, and a large swim platform that provides plenty of room for water toys, a tender, or simply relaxing at the sandbar.
The cockpit has also been thoughtfully upgraded with PlasDECK faux-teak decking, a custom wood cockpit table, and custom wood steps leading into the salon.
Below deck, the 400 Sundancer offers one of its most impressive features: a two-stateroom, two-head layout in a 40-foot sport cruiser.
The spacious salon, well-equipped galley, and comfortable accommodations make her ideal for extended weekends aboard or longer cruising adventures. In fact, the 400 Sundancer was the smallest Sea Ray Sundancer of its era offered with two heads, giving her a layout that is unusually functional for her size.
